Met up close to midday, high tide, wind 9-11kts NW, was up/down but inviting on longbd. Phantom 9.4 tushy was hot on the flat water, easily railing to windward. Maker and me set off for Woolverstone fairly leisurely with Maker having crafty pi** near Pinmill saying he was sight seeing!
Saw Rog in the rear view making huge headway on the big windshift at Pinmill, where Maker took out 500M on me as I went into a blackhole. Decided to continue to the bridge now in clear view on the windshift down the channel.
Rog had probs and Maker turned back. I went under the bridge but crunched the groynes on a footing! All that space to tack! It was a dead run back to Levington which took 30 mins, dodging the yatchs racing in the lightwind.
Ironically as we de rigged, the wind freshened great but the tide was on its way. Nice day with Rog and Steve. There is a nice rig / launch bay next to the marina entrance, now the old launch site has all the pipes blocking the entrance.
Great day’s longbd sail on the flat water
